This Statue is cast in Welsh Coal resin containing Rhondda Coal.
Sculpted by acclaimed Colliery artist Anthony Gerard Powell. After visiting the
Centre the artist was inspired to produce this fine piece to commemorate Steels
lifetime of work in the Welsh Coalfields. Great care has been taken to reproduce
Steel in his full working Harness pulling a Dram of Coal with a Collier riding
the Gun.
